I found the tooth in a rock that looks like a sand stone, the tooth is black and the root of the tooth is a wightish brown.
I found a fossilized shark tooth in a rock in Kentucky how do I preserve it.?
You can preserve it by cleaning the specimen gently with water, and lightly rubbing the dirt off. Then brush a water sealer on to the rock and let it dry for a couple hours. Im guessing your fossil is in limestone. I could be wrong, but Kentucky is mostly limestone.
